Innovation in Rail Geosynthetics
Terram Ltd continues to lead geosynthetic innovation in rail by
working closely with Network Rail and listening to its track engineers.
Once again Terram Ltd have launched a new range of rail products
that will provide benefits to the installer and long term benefits to
track life and maintenance.

This new Terram PW-NP product range will provide improved
geosynthetic choice to the already and established and proven PW
rail product range whilst offering a new and innovative geosynthetic
solution to perform within NR/SP/TRK/9039 guidelines.

The new and innovative product that spearheads the new range will
be Terram PW-NP2.
This new product has been created to incorporate the mechanical
and hydraulic properties of the two most common products utilised
in railway, namely thermally and mechanically bonded geotextiles.
This new product provides the industry with a robust geotextile that
has the integrity to withstand vigorous installation forces to minimise
damage and long term strength whilst installed having an ability to
provide a high resistance to the abrasion forces generated by the
track in constant use.
Additionally and as important it has an additional property that will
minimise the amount of water coming through the ballast to the
formation and will immediately deflect to cess drain. This once again
minimises the amount of water at formation and ballast interface and
minimises creation of slurry.
