Stormcell Stormwater Storage System - Aztex Membrane
Aztex Membrane Durability
Aztex Membrane will remain flexible and will not degrade or oxidise under temperature conditions likely to occur in practice:
Their effective operational temperature range is -25°C to 60°C.
Chemical Resistance
Aztex Membrane is resistant to attack by inorganic acids, alkalis, salt solutions which cause corrosion to metals, and dilute solutions of detergents or bleaches.
Resistance to U.V. Light
Exposure to ultraviolet light, including sunlight, will embrittle Aztex Membrane. The material is not therefore recommended for uses where it will be exposed to long periods of outdoor weathering. However, weathering will not occur when the membrane is installed in accordance with the recommendations.
Resistance to Puncturing
Aztex Membrane conforming to this standard has a high resistance to puncturing, when used in accordance with the recommendations. However, care should be taken to avoid damage during handling, storage, installation, and when covering with screeds or concrete.
Typical Dimensions
Typical dimensions and corresponding minimum nett reel weights are:
4m x 12.5m x 50µm - 23.0kg
Dimensional Tolerances
Length: -0 +10% of labelled length
Width: ±2.5% of labelled width
Yield: (The area of the sheet may be used to calculate the weight of the reel as follows, assuming a film density of 920kg/m3) 500 micron sheet yields 2.17m2/kg.
The length of a reel in metres, multiplied by the opened-out width in metres, dividedby the appropriate yield factor for the thickness from the table opposite, gives the weight per reel. The nominal yield should be agreed between the purchaser and the supplier, to avoid misunderstandings.
Tear Resistance
The tear resistance of the damp proof membrane shall be not less than the values shown below:
- Tear strength: (N) 20
- Tear strength: (N/mm) 40
Impact Strength
When measured six hours or more after extrusion, the value obtained shall not be less than the values shown
below:
- Impact strength-body; (F50,g) 1000
- Impact strength-fold; (F50,g) 500
Tensile Strength
The tensile strength of Aztex Membrane shall not be less than the values shown below:
- Tensile strength; (N/25mm) 180
- Tensile strength; (MPa) 14.4
Elongation at Break
The breaking elongation (unaged) of all thicknesses of Aztex Membrane shall be greater than 500%. When subjected to accelerated ageing (56 days @ 80°C) the breaking elongation shall be greater than 250%.

Application
Surface Preparation: - All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from frost, grease and loose material
Application temperature range: +5 °C to +30 °C
Application details
Apply directly from the reel onto one surface pressing to give adequate initial adhesion. Remove backing paper and apply other surface onto strip pushing fi rmly to ensure good contact with full area of strip along the length of the joint.
Health & Safety
There are no known health hazards associated with the product in normal use.
Wash hands immediately after use.
ALSO AVAILABLE: Top Hat Seals for pipe entries through Aztex Membrane: 100 - 300mm
PLEASE NOTE: WTB Geotechnics cannot guarantee complete watertightness utilising a standard Aztex Membrane. If this is required, a welded membrane should be used. Please contact WTB Geotechnics for further details.
