Mulchmat (Biodegradable)

greenfix_mulchmat

Mulchmat consists of an upper layer of robust
biodegradable coir fibre on top of two layers of UV
degradable polyethylene sheets and UV degradable
polypropylene mesh top and bottom.

The components are stitched together to create a thick, strong and durable blanket which degrades in harmony with the growth of the vegetation.

Mulchmat is designed to create an enhanced environment for the new plant to thrive by preventing loss of moisture with its twin backing foils with off-set slits which allow moisture through but prevent light to penetrate thus suppressing unwanted weed growth without chemicals, prevents soil erosion, maintains a regular temperature, warming in the winter and cooling in the summer.

Upper layer - brown natural fibres.
Bottom layer - biodegradable plastic sheet.

Typical Applications

Where embankments require deep rooted plant stabilisation.

Uses

  • For medium term erosion protection and plant establishment (up to 3 years)
  • Suitable for slopes up to 75°
