What is soil erosion?
 Soil erosion can be caused by many different factors, e.g. rain runoff, water and wind erosion, foot traffic and wildlife, etc.
Our products have been developed over many years of usage in a wide variety of situations, which means that every type of erosion problem can be solved quickly and cost effectively. Used in conjunction with wild flower and grass mixes, as well as marginal and herbaceous planting, these materials stimulate the natural protective growth which eventually provides long term protection.
Covermat (biodegradable)
Covermats are a 15mm thick quilted straw/coir fibre erosion control mat, with added mulches and a choice of seed incorporated during manufacture to aid germination and to provide additional nutrients, especially for poor soil.  
Typical Applications

Highway or rail embankments/retail and commercial developments, housing.
Uses

  • Preseeded for use in areas with good soil coverage
  • Covermat provides instant erosion protection and can be used all year round
  • Available with a variety of seed mixes which can be purchased separately if required
  • Advice on suitable seed mix available
  • The product should be pinned after laying with proprietary pins
  • Suitable for slopes up to 75°

Covermat P
Covermat P is a biodegradable pre-seeded erosion control matting which includes seed embedded in a mulch layer, fertilizer, microorganism and a degradable polypropylene netting top and bottom. 700-750g/sqm.
Covermat A
Covermat A includes a layer of soil, fertilizer, micro-organism, choice of seed etc. Type 2 is a 50% straw + 50% coir mix, roll size 1.2m x 20m or 2.4m x 15m (smaller roll sizes are due to the weight of the roll).
Covermat S
Covermat S is a pre-seeded erosion control blanket consisting of 100% coir fibres with degradable polypropylene netting top and bottom. Weight is 300-350gm/sqm.
